The article suggests that learning must consider the pre-existing knowledge of the student since it frames how they view the topic being examined, that learning to understand is more beneficial than "learning" by memorization since remembering facts isn't truly comprehension and that self-directed active learning leads to a better grasp of content. Although I do agree that learning occurs best when the above are considered, time constraints and differences between individual's abilities doesn't always allow students to learn in these optimum conditions. By using technology to assist educators, students can become more involved in their own education so that active learning can take place and since online education would facilitate working at different paces, self-directed learning can also occur.
